Haven't commented in a while (my computer died & I finally got a new one) but I have been listening. Marina, thanks for posting the interview with E.L.James. Your podcast actually prompted me to read the first book out of curiosity. It's not good but I can see it's appeal as fan fiction - it made me LOL a few times.E.L. James, though, is thoroughly charming - it made me feel a lot better about spending money on her book. Seriously, what is it with the story of Twilight?
I was a little shocked at the idea of Bret Easton Ellis being involved in the making of '50 Shades' because the whole time I was reading it the image of Christian Bale in 'American Psycho' kept popping into my mind.
Yikes!
Have you guys seen 'Bel Ami' yet? I recently caught it through my cable service VOD. While I thought the movie NOT a good adaptation, Rob does a good job leaving many of his performance tics behind. Hurray! The women, particularly Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci, are great.
Always nice to hear from you Wray! I didn't get far enough into '50 Shades' to really form an idea of what the leads would look like but Bale in "American Psycho" - his perchant for perfection & control and obsession to getting this his way - I can see that working.
I'm going to refrain from 'Bel Ami' discussion for now. We're going to be discussing it in the near future :)
